ANU success at Trans-Tasman 3 Minute Thesis Final

Rosanna Stevens, PhD student from the Research School of Humanities and the Arts, has won second place and people’s choice at the Trans-Tasman finals of the 3 Minute Thesis Competition (3MT).
Stevens was among 48 doctoral students from around the region competed at the event in Perth on Monday, which challenges PhD students to share their research in a concise and engaging way in just 3 minutes.
During her talk, Now you see it, Stevens presented her research into ingrained ideas of “whiteness” in Australia, and how these affect Indigenous Australians.
Her second place prize in the Trans-Tasman competition comes after winning first place and people’s choice at both the ANU and College of Arts and Social Sciences finals.
All students competing at the Trans-Tasman finals had won first place at their respective universities in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. First place went to science student Sarah Marley from Curtin University.
